National Honours for Utopia

It’s been a great last few months for our company. We learned in February that our new work, Len Falkenstein’s Utopia, which we’ll be performing in Saint John April 11-13 (see post below) has won second place in the Ottawa Little Theatre’s national One Act Playwriting Competition for 2012. As part of the prize for the contest, the play will receive a three day rehearsal and dramaturgy sessions in advance of a staged reading at Ottawa Little Theatre on April 20.

And this past week we learned that we’ve been invited to perform Utopia at the SummerWorks Theatre Festival in Toronto this August. SummerWorks is Canada’s largest (and one of its most prestigious) juried theatre festivals, annually presenting cutting edge new works by many of Canada’s top professional companies. Visit http://summerworks.ca/2012/ for details on the festival.

Theatre Free Radical will be pround to represent New Brunswick at the festival!
